Yesterday, my crooked man and I spent a night at The Stamford Plaza Adelaide. Situated on North Terrace, the Hotel is on the northern side of the CBD. We stay here on a semi-regular basis for a stay-cation. Recent upgrades to the Adelaide Oval have had a huge impact on how the northern side of the city looks, especially at night on Game Day. Last night the Adelaide Crows played the Melbourne Demons and this was our view from the 19th floor of The Stamford.
In the foreground, the geometric building is the Adelaide Festival Centre. To the bottom left of the photograph (red/blue lights) is the Adelaide Railway Station & Adelaide Casino Buildings. Above that building, you can see the new footbridge, built across the River Torrens, linking the city with Adelaide Oval and Memorial Drive Tennis Centre. To the right of Adelaide Oval clearly visible is St Peters Cathedral situated in North Adelaide. Between the Cathedral and the Festival Centre is Elder Park, the Rotunda lit up at night. Adjacent the Park runs King William Street, the main thoroughfare through the centre of Adelaide.
